QLD Mental Health Week 6-14 October

Queensland Mental Health Week, held from 6th to 14th October 2018, is an annual event which aims to increase awareness and interest in positive mental health and wellbeing across the state. World Mental Health Day is held during Mental Health Week on 10th October.

The theme for 2018 is – Value Mental Health – with six steps:

  1. Be active –
  2. do what you can, enjoy what you do, get moving and improve your mood
  3. Keep learning – embrace new experiences, recognise opportunities, surprise yourself
  4. Connect – talk, listen, be there
  5. Give – your time, your words, your presence
  6. Take notice – remember the simple things that give you joy
  7. Care for our planet – it’s the home we all share

Join Queensland Mental Health Week in 2018 to:

  • promote positive mental health and well being in your community
  • create understanding of mental illness and recovery, and
  • celebrate the lives of people living with mental illness

You can get involved by:

  1. hosting your own event
  2. attending one of the many free events on offer
  3. sharing stories, videos and articles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #qmhw #valuementalhealth
